In November 2010, I went to the doctor because my left leg was swollen and there were red streaks running from my knee to my ankle. The doctor gave me antibiotics and in a few weeks the swelling and red streaks were gone and I felt a little better. In January 2011, I went to the Emergency Room with a high fever, chills, left leg swollen and very red. I spend 5 days in the hospital on very strong antibiotics. The final diagnosis was ....Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
Since all this has started I found that I get tired very easily and I have flare-ups often. The doctor told me I will never be rid of MRSA, I just have to take better care of myself to prevent frequent episodes. All I know is that I do NOT like MRSA.
