Sunday Stealing: The Cool Guy Questions

1.) When was the first time you ever swore or said something profane? I was a teenager...back in the mid 1980's.

2.) Have you ever had unrequited feelings for someone?/Have you ever been friendzoned? I have never been friendzoned or had unrequited feelings for anyone.

3.) What's a false assumption a lot of people have about you? People that think because I am overweight, that I am also greedy.

4.) Have you ever questioned your sexuality? No.

5.) If you could bring one person back from the dead, who would it be and why? My son....because I want him to live a long, happy life and I want him home.

6.) What did you do on December 12th last year? Worked all day.

7.) When was the last time you truthfully told someone you hated them? A few years ago.

8.) What is your opinion on this song? What about this song?  I like the Linkin Park song, the other song would not load.

9.) In less than four sentences, describe the entire plot of the last book you read. It was a Star Trek book about Spock being a child of two worlds.

10.) Describe the appearance of the most untrustworthy person you can think of (they can be a person you've met or a made up person). Are they male or female or neither? What about their appearance makes them untrustworthy? The person is a male, very creepy, smiles at the weirdest times and looks at people like he can see through them.

11.) What is the most cringe-worthy thing you've ever seen? Quite a few things that I don't want to think about.

12.) What is your biggest regret? Not being with my son when he died.  I was in my Jeep traveling to Texas to be with him and he passed away before I could get there.

13.) Do you have any cousins? When was the last time you saw them? I have many cousins and I see them nearly every day on Facebook.  I have not seen them in person in many years.

14.) Describe the worst birthday you've ever had.  The ones that people very close to me forgot about.

15.) When was the last time someone provoked you to the point of violence? Many years ago.

16.) OH NOES!!!! Someone has gotten you to drink a truth potion and now you have to truthfully answer every question you are asked!!! What's the worst possible question someone could ask you?  Hummmm....I have no idea.  None that I can think of.

17.) Describe, in detail, your first serious relationship. Describe how it ended. I was young and dumb and fell for a man 12 years older than me.  It ended because he was abusive.

18.) Introduce your best friend. Tell the story of how you met. Her name is Nancy Joe and we lived in the same town, and went to the same school.

19.) To the introduced friend, has our interviewee lied in any of these questions? Are you surprised by any of these answers? The introduced friend lives in Germany right now and probably won't answer this any time soon.

20.) To finish up, what is your biggest irrational fear and how did you get it? I have an unhealthy fear of death....which causes panic attacks.  I have had it all my life.

Shelby's Gotcha Day

12 years ago today (January 28, 2005), Shelby became my dog!
She was such a tiny little thing and stole my heart upon first sight.
I love her to the moon and back a million times.

"Picking Up Pieces" by Blue October

"Picking Up Pieces"

I really need to talk with you
I keep stepping on the vein
That keeps my lifeline flowing through
I wanna be your perfect stick of glue
But I don't feel perfect at all
Sad and insecure flaw

I find it hard to hold conversations
I get sweaty sick and I wanna walk away
No, it's not you it's strictly me in this situation
I'm wondering will it ever go away...just go away, still

Sometimes I feel like weeping
Awake and when I'm sleeping
Perfecting how to put a game face on

This puzzle I've been keeping
Has been in hiding creeping out the closet door
Spilling out onto the floor

How long will I be picking up pieces
How long will I be picking up my heart

Listen...
I'll be as honest as I feel
I'm getting more paranoid and I'm hearing things
And they never turn out real
It feels like my heart is made of pure steel
It's just so heavy all the time

Yea I'm scared of death
And I'm scared of living
I gave up on the past cause it's unforgiving
I misplaced my trust

I watched my word begin to rust
I'm a balloon about to bust
I need a place for reliving

Sometimes I feel like weeping
Awake and when I'm sleeping
Perfecting how to put a game face on

And this puzzle I've been keeping
Has been in hiding creeping out the closet door
Spilling out onto the floor

How long will I be picking up pieces
How long will I be picking up my heart

How long (in another space and time)
Will I be picking up pieces in the corner of my mind
How long (its getting oh so hard to find)
Keep picking up pieces in the corner of my mind
But I still walk on

Bond Between Mother and Son Last A Lifetime

Today has been a rough day.  I miss my son so very much....
The Bond Between Mother and Son Lasts A Lifetime.

The bond between mother and son is a special one.
It remains unchanged by time or distance.
It is the purest love - unconditional and true.
It's understanding of any situation
and forgiving of any mistake.

"Out of Our Heads" By Dropkick Murphys

"Out Of Our Heads"

Are we gonna make it
Or is this how we'll go
Are we gonna take it sitting down
Hell no!
We're gonna cause a riot
We're gonna rip it up
We're gonna storm the gates
This place is going up!

Here we go, here we go
We're out of our heads and its starting to show
Here we go, here we go
The roof is on fire and it's ready to blow

Are we gonna take it
Are we gonna let them know
Are we gonna let them bring us down
Hell no!
We're gonna crash the party
Every night and every day
We've got 'em on the run
Will you follow?
Lead the way!

Here we go, here we go
We're out of our heads and its starting to show
Here we go, here we go
The roof is on fire and it's ready to blow

Here we go, here we go
We're out of our minds

And we're letting you know
Here we go, here we go
The roof is on fire and it's ready to blow
The roof is on fire and it's ready to blow

Here we go, here we go
We're out of our heads and its starting to show
Here we go, here we go
The roof is on fire and it's ready to blow

Here we go, here we go
We're out of our minds

And we're letting you know
Here we go, here we go
The roof is on fire and it's ready to blow
The roof is on fire and it's ready to blow

Here we go, here we go
We're out of our heads and its starting to show
Here we go, here we go
The roof is on fire and it's ready to blow

Martin Luther King Jr Day 2016

“We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies.”

Sunday Stealing: The Very Forceful Questions

1. Do you have/have you had any pets? I currently have a dog and several tetra fish.

2. Do you play video games? If so, do you have a favorite video game series?  I do play video games and games online.  My favorites are Warcraft, World of Warcraft, Diablo and Everquest II.  I also like to play games on Pogo.com and Facebook.

3. Any unpopular opinions on anything? I have a different opinion about death than most people do.  I don't discuss my opinion because people try to "show me the light".  I don't like being pushed or pressured into an opinion.

4. Do you have a favorite gem? If yes, has anyone ever bought you jewelry with that gem? I love opals...which are also my birthstone.  I also like pearls and use to have my mother's set of pearls (my ex-husband broke the chain then stole the pearls).  I have been given several pieces of jewelry through the years with pearls and opals, I am just not sure what happened to some of the pieces.

5. Favorite story genres? Fiction

6. What was once a secret that you can now share? I do not have any secrets and I do not know of any secrets.

7. Do you like reading? I love to read.  I find reading to be very relaxing.

8. What time is it for you now, what are you usually doing at this time of the day? It is around lunchtime.  During the work week I am usually sitting at my desk working while eating lunch.  On my day off I am usually in front of my computer playing video games.

9. What character on TV or in film is most similar to you? You can go with looks or personality. Or you can make a quip and go to the next question.  As far as looks, I say Bea Arthur.  As for personality, I say Drew Barrymore.

10. What's something weird you wanna do? It cannot be weirder than Mr. Watermelonhead.  Not sure if this is weird or not but...I would like to travel the United States and visit all the Presidential Libraries.

11. Have you ever accomplished a New Years Resolution? I have never accomplished a New Years resolution, which is why I stopped making resolutions many years ago.

12. Is there any music artist you look up to? I like many music artist but I do not really look up to any of them.

15. Would you rather have the ability to sleep for as long as you want, or have the ability to never have to sleep? I love sleeping but I miss out on a lot when sleeping.  So this is a tough question for me....but I think I would prefer to never have to sleep.

10 Months Feels Like Yesterday

Today, it has been 10 months since my handsome son left this world.  I honestly do not know how I have made it through to now.  I really did think Colt would beat cancer and that he would be here for many more years.  But no, cancer decided it wanted to win...and it won in 31 days.   Colt died only 31 days after being diagnosed.  31 DAYS!  All the medical technology and medicine and treatments could not save him. I feel the doctors gave us false hope and that makes me angry. I know that leukemia would kill you someday but not 31 days after being diagnosed.

I miss Colt so much. The pain of losing him is so deeper than anything I have ever felt. There are no words to even begin to describe how I feel.  A large piece of my heart and soul died in Dallas when Colt passed. I am so very sorry I did not get there in time to say good bye...regret and guilt eat me alive some days.

Every day life is hard without Colt.  I miss his wonderful smile and his laugh. I miss hearing him say "Hi Mama".  I miss talking to him and I miss hearing his voice. I miss hearing "I love Mama!".  I miss the "good morning", "good night" and "I miss you Mama", text.  Hell I miss everything about my precious son.
Please, hold your loved ones close and let them know how much you love them. Tomorrow is never promised.

Society is Squishy

To me....most of society just seems squishy. (Yes I am using a gamer term....as in a healer trying to keep a squishy tank alive during a boss fight.)

But I digress...because I do feel that most of society is squishy. And that frustrates me! I constantly find myself saying "build a bridge and get over it", because some people tend to get butthurt about the simplest things.

Life is not all about getting a trophy for participating. Life is not about drama, whining, fighting, throwing fits or trying to one-up someone else.

Life is about enjoying your children, spouses, family, friends, pets and etc. Life is about slowing down and actually paying attention to the beauty around you. Life is being happy and finding peace within yourself so that the world around seems like a good place to be.

So, slow down and enjoy life while you can because in the end....no one gets out of here alive.

Sunday Stealing: The Shipwreck Questions

If you would like to play along go to http://sundaystealing.blogspot.com/.
You are shipwrecked with friends (your group can include real life or virtual life or both) think about it and pick some friends to truly enjoy your cruise + and tell us why you assembled the group by just telling us...

Who would throw the wildest parties, and why did you pick them?
Who would always fall asleep on the couch, and why did you pick them?
Who would enter to be in a talent show, and why did you pick them?
Who would try to get out of doing their chores and why did you pick them?
Who would accidentally set the kitchen on fire whilst cooking and why did you stupidly pick them?
Who would try to domesticate an island pet and why did you pick them?
Who would make the other carry their bags on a shopping spree and why did you pick them?
Who would throw the first person of the boat and why did you pick them?
Who would be the best caregiver when someone got sick & why did you pick them?
Who would try to force the another to play sports with them & why did you pick them?
Who would have the best holiday ideas for your space on the island and why did you pick them?
Who would need to clean out someone others stuff to make room for their own & why did you pick them?
Who worries about how they will look when they’re older &; why did you pick them?
Flashes everyone when they walk by after taking a shower alone & why did you pick them?
Who wakes you to asks weird questions in the middle of the night & why did you pick them?
Who will constantly ask you “what are you thinking about?” & why did you pick them?
Which of your friends on this island might being too touchy-feely while you interact, why did you pick them?

I have to think about this for awhile because I am not too good at these type of questions. I am always afraid I will hurt someone's feeling or accidentally leave someone out. I will work on this through the week and repost at a later time with my responses.

Day One of 2017 - Happy New Year

Today begins a new year.
A year that my son will not get to see.
Another year without my parents.
Another year of an irrational fear of death and dying.
Another year of panic attacks.

BUT...also...another year to live and to be alive.
I do hope 2017 treats me and everyone well.

Hold your loved ones close and let them know
how much you love them....not just today, but every day!
Tomorrow is never promised, so live life to the fullest.
