Sunday Stealing: Laundry Day Meme

Do you know any couples that have been married for a very long time? I know many couples that have been married a long time.  My brother and his wife have been married for 19 years.  My in-laws have been married for nearly 50 years.

What are you tired of people telling you? I am tired of hearing people say "spring is right around the corner".  (longest corner ever!!!)

Which type of ice cream do you prefer? All of it!  LOL Black Walnut, Cherry Bordeaux and Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia top my list.

Do you have a little sister? What’s her name? I only have one sibling...my brother, Brian.

What was the last movie you watched on TV? Last night I watched "A Walk Among the Tombstones".

If the internet was not available right now, what would you do instead? Read a book.

Do you complain a lot? No, and I never have. I just suck it up and move on.

Name a movie that your favorite actor is in. The Green Mile with Tom Hanks

Do you like your toes? No, they are too big.

Would you rather go to an authentic haunted house or an ancient temple? An ancient temple.

Have you ever had champagne? Did you like it? I have had champagne a few times and I do not like it.

Are there any seashells in your room? I have some seashells from Florida....in a drawer in my kitchen.  The seashells use to be in a little basket but they kept falling off the counter.  I tired of cleaning them up and through them in a drawer.

What was the reason for the last time you went outside? I took the dog outside to go potty.

Do you like fruity or minty gum? Minty

Are you looking forward to any day of this month? Not really.

What was the last graduation you attended? My daughter's graduation in 2007.

Do you rummage through the $5 movie bin at Walmart every time? No.

What day of the week do you usually do laundry? I don't have a particular day to do laundry. I do the laundry when the washer is full.

Do you like using air fresheners? I love using air fresheners.

Are your nails ever painted red? I have painted them red before but that was a long, long time ago.  I no longer pain my nails.

When you were a baby, did you have a favorite blanket? Not that I remember.

Ever been on a cruise? No.

Would you rather go to Alaska or Russia? Alaska

Strawberries or bananas? Both...in a smoothie please.

Are you wearing socks? No.

When’s the last time you went to the mall? Last month.

Bacon Cheeseburger Casserole

BACON CHEESEBURGER CASSEROLE

Ingredients:
1 lb. ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1/3 cup Tomato Ketchup
2 Tbsp.  Yellow Mustard
1 cup Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
8 slices Bacon, cooked, crumbled
4 cups (1/2 of 32-oz. pkg.) Tater Tots

Directions:
Heat oven to 400ºF.
Brown meat with onions in skillet; drain. Stir in ketchup and mustard.
Spoon into 9-inch square baking dish sprayed with cooking spray; top with remaining ingredients.
Bake 30 to 35 min. or until casserole is heated through
and potato nuggets are golden brown.

Sunday Stealing: Feisty Twenty-five

Do you like to see it snowing outside? Only on days I get to stay home. 

Do you tell your family you love them enough? I tell them I love them every chance I get.  You never know when that chance will be gone forever.

Do you like getting jewelry or do you not wear any? I like getting jewelry from my husband.  I wear necklaces and bracelets.  

Do you watch a lot of NFL football? I love football. I am a Dallas Cowboys fan but I also like the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Have you ever used the word ‘lame’?  I have and I do use the word "lame".

Are you/Were you in a band? If so, what was your band name? I have never been in a band.  I am not that musically inclined.

When is the last time you went to the doctor? I don't remember the last time I went to the doctor.  Sometime in 2015.

Do you own any shirts with a peace symbol on it? None. But you can send me one if you like!

Would you ever go to Japan? Yes, I would go to Japan for a visit.

What was the last thing you went to Walmart for? Groceries.

Ever gotten in a car accident? Yes, several.  Not fun at all.

Have you ever been in a choir? I was in the church choir when I was a kid.

Do you like the color of your eyes? If not, what color would you want them? I like the color of my eyes and would not change them.

When was the last time you went ice skating? When I was a child...many, many years ago.

Do you like to brush your teeth? I don't mind brushing my teeth. I have dentures and they are very easy to clean.

Have you ever had a surgery? I have had several surgeries throughout my life.

Do you look older or younger than you actually are? I look older.

When is the next time you’ll be up on stage? Never.

Where did you spend your last birthday? At my in-laws house.

What is the last show that you watched a full episode of? Z Nation.

Do you know anyone who lives in Utah? Not that I can think of.

Is there anything you need to work on doing soon? Losing weight.

Do your feelings get hurt easily? Not really.  And I hide my feelings so that people don't know if they have hurt me.

Do you, or do you know someone who has taken karate lessons? I have and so did my children.

Were you ever a boy or girl scout? I was a Girl Scout, a Girl Scout Leader and a Boy Scout Co-Leader.

Lemon Meringue Pie

Lemon Meringue Pie

Ingredients
1 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups water
2 lemons, juiced and zested
2 tablespoons butter
4 egg yolks, beaten
1 (9 inch) pie crust, baked
4 egg whites
6 tablespoons white sugar

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

To Make Lemon Filling: In a medium saucepan, whisk together 1 cup sugar, flour, cornstarch, and salt. Stir in water, lemon juice and lemon zest. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until mixture comes to a boil. Stir in butter. Place egg yolks in a small bowl and gradually whisk in 1/2 cup of hot sugar mixture. Whisk egg yolk mixture back into remaining sugar mixture. Bring to a boil and continue to cook while stirring constantly until thick. Remove from heat. Pour filling into baked pastry shell.

To Make Meringue: In a large glass or metal bowl, whip egg whites until foamy. Add sugar gradually, and continue to whip until stiff peaks form. Spread meringue over pie, sealing the edges at the crust.

Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes, or until meringue is golden brown.

Crockpot Lasagna

I got this Crockpot Lasagna from a co-worker and will be making it soon hopefully.

Ingredients:
1/2 to 1 lb of ground beef
36 oz of spaghetti sauce
16 oz of cottage cheese
1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg
1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning
9 lasagna noodles uncooked
8 oz of shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions:
Brown ground beef. Mix in spaghetti sauce when beef is browned  In a bowl - mix together cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning.

Spray bottom of crock pot with nonstick spray.  Pour about 1/3 of meat sauce in bottom of crock pot and spread evenly Break 3 lasagna noodles to fit and lay on top of meat sauce. Spread half of cottage cheese mixture on top of noodles Then put a layer of mozzarella cheese

Repeat above steps again, once. When finished repeating steps again, top with 3 more lasagna noodles. Pour remainder of the meat sauce on top of noodles.

Cover and turn crockpot on low. Cook for 5-6 hours or until noodles are tender.

Slow Cooker Mexican Chili with Cornbread Topping

**Another recipe I got from a co-worker that I want to try!*

Slow Cooker Mexican Chili with Cornbread Topping

Ingredients:

1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 medium-sized yellow onion, chopped (about one cup)
1 pepper (any color), chopped (about one cup)
1 cup frozen corn
2 tablespoons and 1.5 teaspoons of homemade taco seasoning or 1 package of store-bought taco seasoning
10.75oz can of condensed tomato soup
1/4 pound cheese (we use cheddar or pepper jack), shredded (about one cup)
1 box of Jiffy corn muffin mix + the necessary ingredients listed on the box (Jiffy calls for one egg and 1/3 cup milk)


Directions:

Add chicken, onion, peppers, corn, seasoning, and tomato soup to slow cooker.
Cover with lid and cook on “low” setting for 4-6 hours, until chicken is cooked through and tender.
Shred chicken with fork.
Cover shredded chicken chili with cheese and assembled corn muffin batter.
Add lid and cook on “high” setting for 60 minutes or until cornbread topping is cooked through.

Sunday Stealing: Why Do You Want To Know That Meme (Part Three)

50. What do you spend most of your money on? Other than a vehicle payment. house payment, insurance, utilities, gas and food, I spend money on video games.

51. Would you rather visit the past or the future? The future.  I already know where I have been, I want to know where I am going.

52. Favorite clothing store? A local second hand store.  I get brand new clothes most of the time in my size and the sales clerk/owner does not judge me.  Other than than I like ShopKo, JC Penny and Wal Mart.

53. What is the best advice you can give to those who are feeling down? Look for the positive and focus on that.

54. How often do you think about your future? Does it scare you?  I think about the future every day and it scares me very much.  The main reason is scares me is because I don't want to die...ever.

55. What angers you the most? Animal abuse, Child abuse, and disrespect.

56. When was the last time you got majorly angry? It has been awhile but it happened at work.  I took a walk to calm down.

57. When was the last time you got really sad? Last night.

58. Are you good at lying? Hell no and I have never been good at lying. What is the point of lying? Lying hurts deeper than any truth.

59. What foreign language would you like to learn? Spanish

60. How many languages can you speak and what are they? I can only speak one language and that is English.

61. How often do you go to parties? If you don’t, what do you do instead? I do not attend parties, unless it is work related and happens during the work day.  I would rather stay home with my dog and husband and read a good book.

62. What books do you plan to read this year? I have not decided yet.  Hopefully I find a few good books though.

63. Do you have breakfast every morning? I have an apple every morning for breakfast.

64. Tell us a secret.  I secretly enjoying watching shows like "My 600 Pound Life".

65. How many concerts have you been to? Not too many....crowds upset me.  Maybe 5ish 

66. Last hug? I hugged my husband.

67. Who knows you better than anyone else? A close friend.

68. Baths or showers? Shower

69. Do you think you’re ambitious? Not really.  I try to be but get bored quickly.

71. Countries you’ve visited? Just the United States.  Someday I will travel outside of the the USA.

73. What helps you to sleep better? I sleep better when I am totally exhausted and my brain is forced to stop spinning.

75. What makes you nervous? Death, the unknown, being alone and the list goes on.
