Sunday Stealing: SwapBot

This week's Sunday Stealing questions were stolen from SwapBot.

1. You can breathe underwater or be able to fly. Which one would you choose and why? I would choose to fly. I want to see everything from the sky...a bird's eye view.

2. What's your go to order at a cafe? Coffee and a salad.

3. Where do you feel the safest? At home!

4. What is the one book or book series you could reread without getting bored for the rest of time? Gone With The Wind by Margaret Mitchell

5. You will receive ten million dollars, but you need to spend one million dollars in 24 hours to receive the other nine million tax free (and you can’t tell anyone what you’re doing). What do you spend it on? I would pay off my debt then spend the rest on items for local shelters/rescues. 

6. What was your favorite vacation to date? I have many, but my most favorite is Daytona Beach, Florida.

7. Is there any scent that reminds you of a specific memory? What is the scent and what does it remind you of? There are many scents that triggers specific memories for me. The smell of Kool Filter Kings cigarettes reminds me of my mom. Prince Albert pipe tobacco reminds me of my dad. Lilacs remind me of my grandparents.

8. What is your favorite TV series? Do you have just one or more? My most favorite TV series in M*A*S*H, but I also like Good Eats, Good Eats The Return, Good Eats Reloaded, the Holiday Baking Championship shows, the Holiday Cooking shows, and a few others.

9. They say that in life you need to try everything. Are there things you will never try? I will not try to climb Mt. Everest....too scary for me.

10. If I ask you to close your eyes and remember a picture of you, what do you see ? I see me when I was younger and happier.

11. What was your childhood bedroom like? I had a lot of stuffed animals, and books in my room.

12. Are you a GoodWill, or any second hand store customer? I like shopping at second hand stores. Some of the best finds I have ever found have been at those types of stores.

13. How do you feel about the death penalty? For the most part I am for the death penalty.

14. If you could live in any fictional world, where would it be? Azeroth

15. Do you believe in ghosts/spirits and have you had any experiences with them? I believe things happen that cannot be explained and there is zero reasoning to why they happened. I have had a few experiences where it could not be reasoned or explained.

In Memory of Annabelle (Bella): Nov 2000 to Aug 2012

Annabelle, also known as Bella, was born November 22, 2000 and passed away on August 02, 2012.  She was 1/2 Cocker Spaniel and 1/2 Black Labrador.  

Bella loved her babies (stuffed animals) and loved to play with tennis balls.  She brought us nearly 12 years of joy and happiness; and will always be missed. She is forever loved!

Sunday Stealing: From Facebook

This week's Sunday  Stealing questions were stolen from Facebook.

1) What is your favorite TV show (currently)? I am really into all the holiday baking, holiday cooking and holiday wars shows on Food Network and the Cooking Channel. I also love Good Eats The Return.

2) Would you like to be a child again? I would not mind being 18 again, but not younger.

3) Has anyone ever told you that school times were the best period of his/her life? Would you say that to someone? Why? I do not recall anyone ever saying that to me.  For me there were a few times during school that were great but school was not the best period of my life.

4) How's the weather? It is around 37 degrees and cloudy. Weather Channel shows it is going to rain later.

5) Do you like camping? I use to. Now I prefer glamping.

6) Do you believe in paranormal phenomena? Yes. Things can and do happen that have no explanation or reason.

7) If you would create a holiday, what would it be called and how would we celebrate it? When would this holiday be? No Abuse Holiday....world wide celebration, every day!

8) What word(s) do you dislike? Can you tell why? I dislike "so be it" and "it is what it is". I even say these sometimes then scold myself for saying them.  I dislike these two phrases because I feel that it does not have to be what it is. It....whatever it is, can be changed.  

9) What color do you dislike? What do you associate with it? I cannot think of any color that I dislike or any that I would associate with disliking.

10) Do you believe in otherworldly creatures, eg. ghosts, etc? Yes.

11) Pick two of your favorite fictional characters. Where are they from (what movie, book, etc?) and why are they your favorite? One of my most favorite fictional characters is Scarlet O'Hara from Gone With The Wind (book). I would love to be beautiful, daring and sassy like her.  I also love Deadpool (comic books/movies). Deadpool is hilarious!

12) If you could change anything or add anything to your body would you? (this can be interpreted however, but, think, would you like to have fins or extra hands?) I would love to lose a lot of weight and keep that weight off.

13) What are some family traditions you have/had growing up? Do you still continue them, if yes, why, if no, why not? I really cannot think of any at this time, so I am sure I do not continue any of them.

14) What do you think of tattoos? Do you have any?  I love tattoos!  I do not have any....yet.

15) What is the most disgusting habit some people have? Picking their nose.

16) If you could bring back one TV show that was cancelled, which would it be? Firefly!

17) What was the most unsettling film you have ever seen? None that I can think of.

18) What book has impacted you the most? The Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and it supplements. (Books I must use at work.)

19) You're on Death Row and get one final meal: What is that meal and why do you choose it? I would pick a few things I like the most....homemade chicken & dumplings, Mississippi Mud cake, and a very large glass of sweet iced tea.

20) What is the first profession you remember wanting to become as a child?  When I was very young (4 or 5) I remember wanting to be around trains like my dad. I thought he had fun at work all day driving trains around.

Some Day Are Just Harder

Some days are just harder than others. 

It takes everything in me to hold it together every moment.

There are many times when I lose the battle.

Dona Nobis Pacem (Grant Us Peace): Change Your Climate

Blog4Peace 2019 is here! This year's theme is "Change Your Climate", which could mean anything from global climate change or changing your personal climate to a more peaceful one.

"Change Your Climate" to me is personal. I have been trying for many years now to find peace. I need peace within my soul. At one point in the past, I thought I had peace. But then my son, Colt, died. (See his photo above in my Peace Globe.)

When Colt died, my life changed in such a dramatic way that words cannot describe it. I live in a world of BC (Before Colt) and AC (After Colt).

Losing him means I have lost an entire lifetime of new memories, dreams, hopes, wishes and plans. All I have now are photos and old memory's...both of which I hang onto with all my might.

I have to take things minute by minute, because grief washes over me in waves at unexpected times. I miss Colt so damn much. I want him back in this world. I want to hear his voice again. I want to hug him again. But the reality of it is....that won't happen.

So, I do what I can to find peace. My search will continue to the day I die.

Words matter. Peace matters. 

Together we can make a difference.
