Memorial Day 2017

Memorial Day is not the first day of summer. Memorial Day does not mean a weekend filled with BBQ’s and parties.  Memorial Day is the time to pay homage to the men and women who died while serving our country.  Memorial Day is a day to honor those who died to give us our freedom.
“Today is the day we put aside to remember fallen heroes and to pray that no heroes will ever have to die for us again. It's a day of thanks for the valor of others, a day to remember the splendor of America and those of her children who rest in this cemetery and others. It's a day to be with the family and remember." ~Ronald Reagan

Stuck In My Head: "Eleanor Rigby" by The Beatles

Ah look at all the lonely people
Ah look at all the lonely people
Eleanor Rigby, picks up the rice
In the church where a wedding has been
Lives in a dream
Waits at the window, wearing the face
That she keeps in a jar by the door
Who is it for
All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?
Father McKenzie, writing the words
Of a sermon that no one will hear
No one comes near
Look at him working, darning his socks
In the night when there's nobody there
What does he care
All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?
Ah look at all the lonely people
Ah look at all the lonely people
Eleanor Rigby, died in the church
And was buried along with her name
Nobody came
Father McKenzie, wiping the dirt
From his hands as he walks from the grave
No one was saved
All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

"Rusty Cage: by Soundgarden

"Rusty Cage"

You wired me awake
And hit me with a hand of broken nails
You tied my lead and pulled my chain
To watch my blood begin to boil
But I'm gonna break
I'm gonna break my
I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run
Too cold to start a fire
I'm burning diesel burning dinosaur bones
I'll take the river down to still water
And ride a pack of dogs
I'm gonna break
I'm gonna break my
I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run
Hits like a Phillips head
Into my brain
It's gonna be too dark
To sleep again
Cutting my teeth on bars
And rusty chains, I'm gonna break my
Rusty cage and run
When the forest burns
Along the road
Like God's eyes
In my headlights
When the dogs are looking
For their bones
And it's raining icepicks
On your steel shawl
I'm gonna break
I'm gonna break my
I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run

Hanging Out At The Campground

My in-laws camping during Mother's Day weekend.  We took Shelby out the campground to see her Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt, Uncle and fur cousins. It was around 80ish degrees, so Shelby stayed in the shade as much as possible and drank plenty of water!

Happy Mother's Day 2017

A mother’s love for her child is like nothing else in the world.
It knows no law, no pity, it dates all things and crushes
down remorselessly all that stands in its path.’

Fibromyalgia Awareness Day

Each year on May 12, millions of people observe National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day. This day shares the spotlight with other May 12 awareness days such as International Fibromyalgia Awareness Day, Fibromyalgia Awareness Day, International Awareness Day for Chronic Immunological and Neurological Diseases or International Awareness Day for MCS, ME/CFS and FM, which are observed globally.

Fibromyalgia, which affects more than 12 million Americans, is a musculoskeletal syndrome that may cause some or all of the following: widespread pain, tender points, incapacitating fatigue, anxiety, depression, migraines/chronic headaches, irritable bowel syndrome, irritable bladder, insomnia, hypersensitivity to cold/hot, swelling, fibro fog (inability to concentrate/focus), difficulty remembering, numbness, stiffness, decreased energy, noise, light and odor sensitivity and skin sensitivity.

Symptoms may come and go, lasting a few minutes, an hour, a day, a week, a month or a year.

The first National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day was observed in 1992 in honor of the birthday of Florence Nightingale after historical documentation was reviewed and suggested she suffered from symptoms similar to fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. For more information on National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day visit www.fmcpaware.org.

It has been 26 years since Mom passed away. So hard to believe

I miss you Momma.  I love you very much.
