This morning I put up a few decorations in my cubical at work.

I think snowman decor may be my newest obsession!

Sunday Stealing: Consider Yourself

1) Of the various cultures, ethnicity or nationalities you belong to, which most strongly do you consider yourself? Caucasian American

2) Is there a culture you cannot claim heritage from but which you feel quite close to? None that I can think of.

3) What's one language you wish you knew fluently? Spanish

4) If you could move anywhere in the world and be guaranteed a job, etc., where would you go? Somewhere warm, like Florida.

5) If you had a time machine, and could witness any one event without altering or disturbing it, what would you want to see? The very first Superbowl.

6) Have problems sleeping? Every night

7) Are you free with your feelings? Not really

8) What is the one outfit/piece of clothing/accessory you own that makes you feel incredibly good whenever you wear it? Why? My yoga pants because they are very comfortable.

9) What do you do to make yourself feel better when you're in a funk? Play video games.

10) Has anyone ever surprised you in a way that let you know you were special? How? I have a friend (Rose) that sends me cute cards via snail mail...those cards make my day.

11) When you are having a "good day," how do you spread the happiness to others? I am way more talkative and draw people into the conversation.

12) What is one thing that puts you in a bad mood, no matter how good you were previously feeling? Seeing/reading/hearing about an animal or child being abused.

13) Would you rather live in a world with or without technology such as computers, cars, airplanes, bombs? I prefer to live in a world with technology, but would prefer there were no bombs or other bad things.

14) If you had to live without either heating in your house or air conditioning, which one would you keep? I would keep the heat.

15) If you had to own five dogs, what kind would you get? I am not picky about what kind of dogs they would be.  I would adopt from the local shelter and would be happy with whatever breed they are.

Camera Critters: Grandma and Ruby

On Thanksgiving Day we spent the day at my mother-in-law/father-in-law's house.

Shelby loves her Grandma and Grandpa. In this first photo Shelby was hiding under the dining room table to be as close to her Grandma as possible.  

 In this second photo, Shelby was giving her fur-cousin, Ruby a kiss.  

It was a fun day at Grandma's and the food was awesome.

Shelby slept all the way home!

The day before Thanksgiving, Shelby was up early since her human had to leave early for a doctor's appointment.  She had a nice breakfast, went potty then went straight to her bed for a nap!

Sunday Stealing: Would You Rather

This week's Sunday Stealing was stolen from Would You Rather.

Would you rather be stuck on an island alone or with someone who talks incessantly? I hate being alone so as long as I could take a break from the talking now and then, I would rather be with someone who talks incessantly.

Would you rather be too hot or too cold? Too Hot.

Would you rather have a cook or a maid? A maid. I don't mind cooking, but I hate cleaning!

Would you rather be the youngest or the oldest sibling? I am the oldest and I am just fine with that.

Would you rather get rich through hard work or through winning the lottery? I would love to win the lottery.  However, even if I did win the lottery I would continue to work.

Would you rather have a 10-hour dinner with a headstrong politician from an opposing party, or attend a 10-hour concert for a music group you detest? I would rather attend the concert.  

Would you rather be an Olympic gold medalist or a Nobel Peace Prize winner? Noble Peace Prize winner.

Would you rather have a desk job or an outdoor job? Desk job with a nice view of the outdoors.

Would you rather live at the top of a tall NYC apartment building or at the top of a mountain? I would rather live on the top of a mountain.

Would you rather have Rambo or The Terminator on your side? The Terminator

Would you rather be proposed to in private or in front of family and friends? In private

Would you rather have to sew all your clothes or grow your own food? Grow my own food.

Would you rather hear the good news or the bad news first? Bad news first.

Would you rather be your own boss or work for someone else? Work for someone else.

Would you rather have nosy neighbors or noisy neighbors? Noisy neighbors.

Would you rather be on a survival reality show or dating game show? Survival reality show.

Would you rather be too busy or be bored? I prefer to be too busy.

Would you rather watch the big game at home or live at the stadium? At home.

Would you rather spend the day with your favorite athlete or you favorite movie star? Favorite athlete!

Would you rather live where it is constantly winter or where it is constantly summer? Summer for me please!

First Snow of Winter - November 2015

It snowed last night...not very much though.

Winter has begun.

 

Happy Birthday Shelby!

Today is Shelby's 11th Birthday!  First thing this morning (5:20ish) I took her photo.  

She was not too happy about being up so early so I gave her an extra treat. 

I got Shelby a bone to chew on, which didn't last long enough for me to find a camera).

I also got her new blanket which she seems to really like.  

Yes it has a Christmas pattern

on it but that is Ok! :)

Shelby Likes Whipped CreaIm

I let Shelby try a bite of whipped cream tonight and she really liked it.

However, when I told her no more bites, she stuck her tongue out at me!  LOL

 Trying the "cute face" to see if maybe I will give her one more bite.

It worked! :o)

Ambrosia Fruit Salad

Ambrosia Fruit Salad

Ingredients

1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
2 1/2 cups shredded coconut
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 (8 ounce) can fruit cocktail, drained
1 (8 ounce) can pineapple chunks, drained
1 (11 ounce) can mandarin oranges, drained
3 cups miniature marshmallows
1 (10 ounce) jar maraschino cherries, drained (optional)
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions

In a large bowl, combine the whipped topping, coconut, chopped nuts, fruit cocktail, pineapple, mandarin oranges, marshmallows, cherries, nutmeg and cinnamon. Mix together well and refrigerate for 30 to 45 minutes.

Is there anyone else in the room with you atm? What are they doing? I am all alone in the kitchen.  My husband is in the living room watching tv and the dog is napping.

Do you show your teeth when you smile, or do you prefer smiling with your lips closed? I show my teeth when I smile.

Would you rather be told the truth, even if it isn’t what you want to hear? Yes!  I can handle the truth a thousand times better than I can a lie.

What is something that you plan to buy, as soon as you’ve saved up the money for it? A new Jeep. I doubt that I will ever have a new vehicle but I can dream!

Do you play Sudoku? No.

Have you ever had a migraine? Yes and I get them often.

What was the last book you read for pleasure? I re-read "Saint Odd" by Dean Koontz

What was the last item of clothing you purchased for yourself? A warm winter shirt.

Your first serious relationship, do you still talk to him/her? No, I have no idea what happened to him.

Who is the last person you texted? My friend, Rose.

How close is your family? My husband's parents, his brother and his brother's wife are 20 minutes away.  My children, my brother, my sister-in-law and my nieces and nephew are about 12 hours away in  different state.

Is there anything too serious to be joked about? Yes....child abuse, sexual abuse, animal abuse, domestic violence, rape, murder....the list goes on and on.

Do you like to understand and have good knowledge of things? Yes.

What is worse? Back pain or shoulder pain? Back pain.

Have you ever almost fallen off of something high off the ground? Yes and it freaked me out.

What’s one fruit you love in drinks? Cherries

What is something simple that you’re afraid of? The dark and death.

Has this weekend been good? Yes! I got to spend time with my mother-in-law.  We went to a craft fair together and had lunch.  It was a blast.

How much time do you take to get ready in the morning? 15 minutes.

Last movie you watched in theaters and with whom? It has been awhile since I went to the theater.  I don't remember what the last movie I saw there. I do remember which theater I was in...just not the movie.  UGH!  Getting old sucks!
