Yesterday Was A Snow Day

Photo (c)2019 Shannon G. Wamsley
Shelby's path through about 6 inches of snow.
She did not give me time to shovel a path for her.

After it finally stopped snowing the sun came out for a bit.
We got almost 8 inches of snow.

Today is Shelby's Gotcha Day

Happy Gotcha Day Shelby!
14 years ago today (January 28, 2005), Shelby became my dog!
She was such a tiny little thing and stole my heart from the moment I laid eyes on her!
I love her to the moon and back a million times.

Sunday Stealing: Conversation Starters

 https://sundaystealing.blogspot.com/
What are some small things that make your day better? Seeing my dog's happiness when I return home from work.

What shows are you into? Last Man Standing, Friends, M*A*S*H, Good Eats, Good Eats Reloaded, Cooking reality shows, Ink Master and a few others.

What TV channel doesn’t exist but really should? A channel with nothing but puppies and dogs doing silly things.

Who has impressed you most with what they’ve accomplished? My nephew, Brandon. He is one awesome dude!

What age do you wish you could permanently be? I wish I could be permanently 30.  I was a lot skinnier, a lot healthier and a lot more happy then.

What TV show or movie do you refuse to watch? There are many I do not like but none that refuse to watch.

What is something that is considered a luxury, but you don’t think you could live without? My Jeep because it has a heated steering wheel, heated seats and a moon roof.

What’s your claim to fame? I have no claim to fame.

What’s something you like to do the old-fashioned way? I have nothing that I do the old-fashioned way, at least nothing I can think of.

What’s your favorite genre of book or movie? I like a variety of genres for both movies and books. I have never really picked just one favorite genre.

How often do you people watch? All the time.

What have you only recently formed an opinion about? I recently formed a new opinion on what time I should go to bed on a work night.  Use to I could stay up until 11:00PM or midnight and get up at 4:30AM with no problem. However, the older I get the less I can do that.  If I plan on getting up at 4:30AM, then I need to be in bed no later than 8:00PM!

What are you interested in that most people haven’t heard of? Nothing I can think of.

What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home? About 1,000 miles.  Currently I live about 600 miles from where I was born and raised.

What is the most heartwarming thing you’ve ever seen? The birth of my children.

What is the most annoying question that people ask you? I am more annoyed with comments/statements than questions.  For example: When talking about my son dying, people tend to say things like, "He is in a better place now." and "God needed another angel."

What could you give a 40-minute presentation on with absolutely no preparation? There are a few things I would present a 5 minute presentation on without preparation but I cannot think of any topic on which I could speak about for 40 minutes unprepared.

If you were dictator of a small island nation, what crazy dictator stuff would you do? More than likely I would not do anything crazy.  Unless you count taking mandatory naps throughout the day!

What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives? Learn how to be independently happy.

From Grumpy to Snuggling

Last Sunday, as we were getting ready to leave the house, Shelby was sitting in her chair.
She gave me a very grumpy look because she knew we were leaving without her.

I decided she needed some snuggle time! I got into her chair with her and told her where we going and that we would not be gone long. She was able to settle down and relax until we got back.

Martin Luther King Jr Day 2019

Martin Luther King, Jr, said, "The time is always right to do what is right." Those words still ring true today and every day.

I encourage you to read more about Martin Luther King, Jr, and what he stood for. Go to your local library, search the internet, conduct research and you will find lot of information on Mr. King. Read his words and understand the meanings.  Open your mind to new possibilities and always do what is right.
