Sunday Stealing: Compassion

This week's Sunday Stealing was stolen from Compassion Intl.
1. What three words best describe you?

Kind, caring and tall.

2. What makes you unique?

I have never thought of myself as unique and cannot think of anything that makes me unique. I am just me.

3. Who is someone important in your life?

If my dog counts, then my answer is my dog, Riley.  Otherwise, my mother-in-law is my answer.

4. What is something that always makes you laugh?

Funny animal videos
5. Who is someone who can always cheer you up?

My co-worker, Megan.

6. When was a time you were really proud of yourself?

When I graduated college with my Associates Degree. I was a single mother at the time and was working full time, going to college full time and raising two children.

7. What is something that is difficult for you?

Trying to understand why people have to die. Questions such as: Why did my husband die when he did? Why did cancer kill my son only 31 days after he was diagnosed?  Why do I have to die?....keep me up at night and causes me to have panic attacks.

8. What three places would you love to travel to?

Ireland, Hawaii and Australia
9. What is a fun memory you have with your best friend?

Riding the Pep Bus to basketball games was always fun.

10. If you could have dessert for breakfast, what would you eat?

I would have a ice cream sundae, with chocolate ice cream, pecans, chocolate syrup,  cherries, and whip cream.

11. If you published a book or wrote a movie, what would it be about?

I would like to publish a book on how I have made it through life. I have been through quite a bit in my 53 years. I doubt anyone would read the book but that is ok.

12. Which is easier, math or English?

English

13.What three things make you the happiest?

My dog, the smell of lilacs and waking up each morning.
14. What is an event in your life that has shaped who you are today?

Oh goodness....so very many events have made me who I am today. The biggest one that shaped me, is surviving being molested (which happened from as young as I can remember to around age 13).

15. Which is more important, being kind or being honest?

This is tough to answer because I think we should always be honest, however, sometimes being honest is not the kindest thing to do.  So, honest first then be kind.

  1. I hope you get to travel. I've been to Ireland, Hawaii and Australia...loved them all!

  2. I'd read your book. We're all struggling with issues of life and death, why life seems unfair sometimes, and how we persevere nonetheless.

  3. I am sorry you lost your husband and son. Watching someone you love die is awful. I had to go to grief counseling after my dad died. Remembering that does scare me. Once I am gone, my faith allows me to have peace knowing I will see my loved one again.
