Sunday Stealing: 11 February 2024

This week's Sunday Stealing was stolen from Compassion Intl.
1. What is a big dream you have for the future?

My biggest dream is to be the oldest living person.  I want to live to be at least 100 years old.

2. What are your favorite hobbies?

Creating plastic canvas projects, crocheting, and creating graphics and signature tags.

3. If you could change the world, what would you do?

I would release a cure for cancer.

4. What places have you traveled to? What was your favorite?

I have traveled to a lot of states in the United States, but I have not yet been out of the United States. My favorite location is the Great Smokey Mountains in Tennessee.

5. What is the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?

Chocolate covered grasshoppers

6. What are your favorite places to eat?

Texas Roadhouse, Sonic and the local Mexican restaurant.

7. What kind of music do you like? Talk about a favorite artist or songs.

I like a wide variety of music: 80's, 90's, Grunge, Heavy Metal, R&B, Country, and more.  One of my favorite artist is Disturbed and one of my favorite songs by them is The Sound of Silence.

8. What was the last book you read?

What is Left Unsaid by Emily Bleeker
9. If you could meet a character from a book, who would it be?

Scarlett O'Hara from Gone With The Wind

10. Do you prefer books or movies? Why?

I prefer books over movies.  Books allow my imagination to flow and I can get completely immersed in the story. Movies kind of lay everything out for you and  you get what you get.

11. What is something you used to be scared of, but aren’t any more?

I am no longer scared of driving places by myself.

12. What is something you were never afraid of, but are now?

I am afraid of trying/doing things that put my life in danger. For example: I have always wanted to try parasailing, but now that I am older, just thinking about trying it scares me.
13. What item is your most cherished possession? Why?

My son's ashes. I feel he is still here with me as long as his ashes are in my home. I know that one day I will need to bury his ashes but I am not ready for that yet.

14. What awards or contests have you won?

I have received cash awards, time off awards, coins and other awards at work. In high school and college I received a few school related awards.

15. Do you like working jigsaw puzzles?

I do enjoy working jigsaw puzzles, but the older I get the more I like working them on a computer rather than at the kitchen table.  Working them on the computer lets me make the pieces bigger so I can see what I am doing.

  1. A cure for cancer would be grand and a fine accomplishment. I think to be the oldest person you'd need to live to about 117 or thereabouts. I had a great-great aunt who lived to be 107. She lived by herself until she was 105.

  2. My mother always wanted to live to 100. She died at 102, but she had Alzheimers so didn't know she had lived to 100...plus all of her siblings and friends were dead and she didn't recognize me. One thing I learned from her is that I DO NOT want to live to 100!

  3. You've been to MN, IA, MO, AR, NE, KS, and AL, which I have not. But I've been to CO, UT, CA, NV and all of the Northeast states (but they're small!)

Thank you for your comment! I appreciate you!
