In Memory of Charles Wamsley

Charles Robert Wamsley was born on 16 September 1946 in Point Pleasant, WV to Robert and Hattie Catherine (Rainey) Wamsley. In February 1966, he enlisted in the US Air Force and proudly served his country for 26 years before retiring. Charles was a patriot and was proud to be a Vietnam Veteran. He truly loved serving his country. During Charles’ military career, his family lived in Nebraska, Michigan Ohio, Japan, Montana, Wyoming, Missouri and lastly making his home in Wisconsin.

Charles married Judith (Gille) Wamsley on 18 April, 1967 in Belleville, NE. Together they have two dearly loved sons and daughters in law Michael Scott (Tami) Wamsley and Steven Wade (Shannon) Wamsley.

Charles is survived by his beloved wife and children,  favorite sister Debra S Myers (Reece) of Tennessee, Sisters  in law Elizabeth Bennett (Ray), Caroline (Tom) Gruenwald,  Theresa (Stephen) Furlan, and Carolyn Wamsley  along with 2 Brothers  in law Paul (Susan) Gille and Christopher Gille.  He is also survived by 4 step grandchildren Briana (William) Beach, Mikaela Schulze, Joshua Schulze and Vicki Reese. He is also survived by 2 great grandsons Nathan and Gabriel, along with many nieces and nephews.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, brother Harvey Wamsley, step grandson Richard Colt Hazlett, brother in law Bruce Bennett and sister in law Tammy Gille.

Internment with military honors will held at 1:30 on Monday June 5th at Woodlawn Cemetery North, (Cty Rd B, LaCrosse)
