Sunday Stealing: Holiday Questions

This week's Sunday Stealing was stolen from IsLCollective.
1. What’s the most important thing about the holidays for you?

The most important thing about the holidays for me is to not be stressed out.  I can only do what I can do and I can only control what I can control.  Other than that, whatever happens....happens.

2. What’s the most annoying thing about this time of year?

All the commercialism.  The holidays should be filled with family, love, peace and  happiness....not on who can spend the most money.

3. Who do you celebrate the holidays with?

Family

4. Do you travel during the holidays?

Sometimes, but not in the last few years or so.

5. Do you prefer giving or receiving gifts?

I like to give gifts to others.  I am not very good at picking out the gifts though.  I do try my best.

6. Who is the hardest person to buy a gift for?

My father-in-law.

7. What is your traditional holiday meal?

Turkey or ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, rolls and pie for dessert.

8. Does your town get decorated for the holidays?

Downtown has decorations and there is a holiday light display in a local park.

9. Do you have a Christmas tree?

Yes.  I took it down the afternoon of 25 December.

10. If you have a tree, what is on top of it?

A primitative star.

11. Do you decorate the outside of your house with lights?

I do decorate the outside of my house with lights.
12. What is your favorite holiday memory as a child?

Visiting my Grandparents (mom's side) on Christmas Eve, while we waited for Santa to visit our house.

13. What is your favorite holiday dessert?

Christmas cookies!

14. Do you have a favorite holiday movie?

I have a few of them....The Christmas Story, Elf, How The Grinch Stole Christmas (1966), and How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000).

15. What is your favorite holiday tradition?

As a child I loved going from house to house on Christmas, visiting with family.  Now that I am an adult, I enjoy visiting a few people or them coming to visit.
