Top 5 on Friday: Country

Top 5 On Friday - Week 198
Hosted by The Meme Mistress at "The Music Memoirs"

Top 5 "Country" or "Alt-Country" songs

1. "Funny Face" by Donna Fargo
2. "Delta Dawn" by Tanya Tucker
3. "Seven Spanish Angels" by Willie Nelson
4. "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" by The Charlie Daniels Band
5. "He Stopped Loving Her Today" by George Jones

  1. I feel awful that I know none of these songs, but I'm just getting into country music.

  2. Nothing to feel bad about :)

They are all songs I heard as a kid and I still love them today.

  3. Love them all..they remind me of my mom!

  4. Nat...they remind me of my mother also, main reason I like them.

  5. Ah crap - we totally forgot about Charlie Daniels! "The South's Gonna Do It Again" and "Uneasy Rider" are 2 others of his that are fun.

  6. That's a great list. "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" is a long time favorite, and "He Stopped Loving Hero Today" is one of the all time great songs in any genre. Personally, I prefer Willie's duet with Ray Charles on "Seven Spanish Angels". Nicely done!
