Saturday 9: Summer Movies and Oil

Saturday 9: Summer Movies and Oil
Hosted by Crazy Sam

1. The other day I purchased gas for $3.96, which was less than the $4.37 my local station charges per gallon. What is the current gas price in your area for regular? The cheap stuff is $3.79 per gallon and diesel is $4.49 per gallon.

2. Will your vacation plans be altered by the price of gas?
Yes! We will not be doing any traveling this summer. If we take a vacation we will stay at home the entire time.

3. Is there any movie this summer that you're looking forward to seeing?
I am looking forward to seeing "Wall-E", "Kung Fu Panda", "Hancock" and "The Dark Knight".

4. Gas prices aside, what is your favorite vacation destination?
I love the Great Smoky Mountains! I would like to go there on a four day weekend or even for a week.

5. Will you watch more film on DVD than in theaters this summer?
I always watch more films on DVD than I do in the theater. The theater is getting to expensive to go to PLUS it is hard for me to sit still that long.

6. Will you fly anywhere this summer?
No, I have no need to fly.

7. Guess: How high will a gallon of gas peak at?
I think it will top out at $4.50 here in Missouri.

8. Will gas prices effect who you vote for in this fall's election?
No, not really.

9. How much will the price of home heating oil effect you?
The price of home heating is going to take a huge chunk out of our checkbook. It is going to cost $2500.00 or more to heat our home this winner.

  4. Some people are selling off their pets and children to pay for gas. I only have a virtual puppy. How much could I get for him?

  5. I forgot about the movie Wall-E. I'll probably take the kids to see that one in the theater. We watch most at home, too.

Stay-at-home vacations can be loads of fun!

    Happy Saturday! :)

  7. That's a hefty bill for heating oil. People are really suffering economically. Something need to be done.

  9. Hi Shannon,
Although we do not have any need for home heating (we have the sun all year round), we also spend a fortune on air cooling (airconditioner) when it gets too hot!!

  10. Howdy ZJ! I think I would rather be in the sun all year around! I don't like the cold.

  11. Hmm … Deisel is over $5/gallon in So Cal already! The Smoky Mountains are lovely aren’t they? Sorry to be late to the party, but my computer balked in the HEAT WAVE yesterday and I had to turn it off. I've posted my Saturday 9 a couple of hours ago (on Sunday morning) at Small Reflections … then ate some breakfast, watered the yard, then took Molly for a walk … letting my computer cool down a while. I’m hoping it will let me visit others before giving me fits again.
    Hugs and blessings,

  13. I hear you on the movies - forget the price of gas, how much do they want for a ticket these days! Although we are so excited that our son can go and sit through a movie now that we will probably bite the bullet and taken him.
