Sunday Stealing: Morning Meme

1. You have just been hired to clean your own home, what is your first complaint?

"Why is there so much dust?!!!"

2. Are you able to ignore a ringing telephone?

I am very much able to ignore a ringing telephone.

3. How often do you allow a ringing phone to go to voice mail?

It depends on where when the phone rings, who is calling and what time of day it is.
4. Do you answer your cell phone, out in public, every time it rings? Or do you silence it and get back to it when you’re in a more private area?

I do not always answer my phone when it rings while I am out in public or in private.  It always depends on where I am at when it rings, who is calling and what time of day it is.

5. How often would you say you’re on your home phone? Your cell phone?

My cell phone is my home phone. I do not have a landline.  During the work week I am on my phone very often during the day, in meetings, calls or messaging. Other than work stuff, I play games on my phone, text message, Facebook, Instagram, email, read the news, surf the net and more.

6. Do you like talking on the phone or do you view it as a necessary communication tool?

I do think phones are a necessary communication tool, but that does not mean I like to talk on the phone. I would much rather text or email on my smart phone than talk on it.
7. When did you last go for a bike ride?

I have not been on a bike ride for many years.  So long ago, that I cannot remember when the last time was.

8. Do you own a bike?

Currently, I do not own a bike. However, now that I am older and heavier, I do not feel comfortable riding a bike. If I purchase one, it will be a stationary bike.

9. Given the most popular New Year’s resolution of losing weight, would you consider putting bicycle riding as one of your exercise options? Why or why not?

I would and do consider bicycle riding as an exercise option.  Bicycle riding is a great cardio workout.
10. If you had to name a smell that always makes you nostalgic, what would it be? What sorts of memories does the smell evoke?

The smell of lilacs always make me nostalgic. Lilacs remind me of being back home in Missouri, in the area I was raised.  Lilacs remind me of my grandparents and sitting on the front porch with them, listening to grandpa tell us stories of the good old days.

11. What did you do over the weekend? No detail is too small. This is your journal, so tell us about the mundane tasks in your life.

Last weekend I went grocery shopping, made meals, fed the dog, played video games, napped, went to see my in-laws, did laundry, cleaned house and got ready for the work week.

12. If it weren’t for my blog, I’d _________.

If it weren't for my blog, I would not have met the many wonderful online friends that I have now.

13. When was the last time you replied “because I said so”? Do you find yourself saying that a lot? Or do you prefer to tell people WHY you want them to do something for you.

I have not said this in awhile.  I said it a lot when my children were growing up, but nowadays, not so much.  I don't mind explaining why I want someone to do something for me.

14. What is the worst gift you’ve ever received?

The engagement/wedding ring from my first husband...he purchased it from a bubble gum machine and paid 25 cents for it.
15. Tell us the worst gift you’ve ever given. What was the reaction of the recipient?
I cannot think of anything that I have given that was not well received.  If I have given any gifts that the recipient has not liked, they did a great job of hiding their shock or disappointment.

  1. I'm with you on blogs. We have made great friends. I remembered when you moved, I thought it was very brave. It's seemed to work out. Yea!

  2. I live in Missouri and I have a white lilac bush. You are right, it seems like there are a lot of lilac bushes around here. Loved your answers, have a nice day!

  3. Boromir. Sigh. Not as cute as Aragorn, but handsome enough.

  4. We shut down the ringer on the land line, and that helps a bunch!
The only bad gift I've ever gotten was from the mil and fil... It showed me something about how little value I had in their eyes.
